Citadel of God Almighty Satellite Church in New Jersey has a remarkable journey that began on July 21, 2018, with a humble gathering of 17 people. Initially, Bible study sessions took place on Wednesdays at 467 Lincoln Avenue in the City of Orange, New Jersey. The first Bible study was held on July 25, 2018, with an attendance of ten individuals. From that point onward, the church actively engaged in evangelism and Bible study until December 5, 2018. During this period, Sunday services were not yet established.
On December 30, 2018, a significant event took place at COGA Cathedral Headquarters. The General Overseer, Pastor Joseph Famuyide, called upon interested members residing in New Jersey to join the Satellite Church. Several individuals, including Pastor Emmanuel Apalowo, Bro. Adegoke Adekunle's family, Sis. Olawumi Omisile, Bro. Olumide Awosina's family, and Sister Ibukun Salami, stepped forward and officially became members of the new church. The church, following the example of Antioch, prayed for and commissioned Pastor Paul and Barnabas for their mission. In a similar manner, prayers were offered for the newly formed Satellite Church. Soon after, the church building in New Jersey was acquired, with the property at 483 Springfield Avenue officially closing on January 10, 2019. Notable figures present at the closing included Pastor Joseph Famuyide, Evangelist Deborah, Bro. Soji Oluwatukesi, and Pastor Emmanuel Apalowo, the first Resident Pastor. The keys to the building were entrusted to Pastor Joseph Famuyide, who subsequently handed them over to Resident Pastor Emmanuel Apalowo. Truly, all glory belongs to God.
Significant renovations were undertaken to prepare the building for occupation, including the replacement of the entire apartment building roof in a single night due to leaks. Water pipes were fixed, and various government agencies granted their approval. In a remarkably short period, the church was ready for worship. Approximately $57,500 was invested in renovating the 2nd and 3rd apartments, children's church, kitchen, main auditorium, and church bathrooms. The basement and heating system of the 2nd and 3rd apartments were not included in this amount. Brother Adekunle Adegoke assumed the role of Church Treasurer, Brother Olumide Awosina became the Church Secretary and Choir Leader, and Pastor Emmanuel Apalowo served as the Resident Pastor. Both the members and COGA leaders were prepared for this new chapter. A visitation schedule was established, with two families from the Headquarters in Bronx, NY, joining the congregation in New Jersey every Sunday from February 17, 2019, to July 28, 2019. The average Sunday attendance during this time ranged from 20 to 25 individuals.
The official dedication of the building took place on Sunday, February 10, 2019, with 237 people in attendance at the inaugural service. Pastor Joseph Famuyide, the Senior Pastor, led the prayers and dedication. The church celebrated with a Three Days Crossing Over Prayer Rain event, held from Friday, February 15, to Sunday, February 17, 2019. Rev. Regina Kehinde was the esteemed guest minister for this momentous occasion. Since then, the church has experienced steady growth under the leadership of Pastor Abiola Babalola, who currently serves as the Resident Pastor.
