As Kingdom ambassadors, we are not left to fulfill our mission in our own strength. God promises to empower us with His Spirit, equipping us for the work ahead. This promise is clearly articulated in Acts 1:6-8, where Jesus speaks of the power the disciples will receive.

Today’s Scripture:

“Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, ‘Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?’ And He said to them, ‘It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.'” – Acts 1:6-8 (NKJV)

Understanding the Promise of Power

Jesus’ promise of the Holy Spirit was a crucial preparation for the disciples’ mission. The power they were to receive would enable them to be effective witnesses, spreading the gospel with boldness and authority. This promise extends to us today, ensuring we have the strength needed to fulfill our calling.

Steps to Receive and Utilize God’s Power

  1. Seek the Holy Spirit: Actively seek the Holy Spirit through prayer and worship. Luke 11:13 assures us, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” Ask for the Spirit’s presence in your life.
  2. Submit to God’s Will: Align your life with God’s purposes, allowing His power to work through you. James 4:7 advises, “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” Surrender your plans to His will.
  3. Step Out in Faith: Trust in the power you have received and act on it. 2 Timothy 1:7 reminds us, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Move forward with confidence, knowing God’s Spirit is with you.

The Impact of God’s Power

Receiving God’s power transforms our ability to witness and serve. It emboldens us to speak the truth, perform acts of love, and demonstrate God’s presence in tangible ways. This empowerment is not just for personal edification but for advancing God’s Kingdom on earth.

Conclusion and Prayer

Acts 1:6-8 reminds us of the promise of power through the Holy Spirit. By seeking the Spirit, submitting to God’s will, and stepping out in faith, we can fulfill our mission as Kingdom ambassadors with divine strength.

Dear Lord, thank You for the promise of Your Holy Spirit. Empower us with Your strength and boldness to fulfill our mission. Help us to seek Your Spirit, submit to Your will, and step out in faith. May our lives reflect Your power and advance Your Kingdom. Amen.
